Awards and Recognition
In 1999 our firm received the Department
of Environmental Protection's GreenCircle, an award
which recognizes contributions that promote natural resource
conservation and environmental awareness. Rountree architects
was highlighted for the initiation of the "Solar on Schools"
in Connecticut, a program which installs photovoltaic systems
on schools statewide. Read

In 1994 John Rountree received the People's Action
for Clean Energy's (PACE) "Business
Environmental Energy Award" and was appointed
to be on the PACE
board of directors. PACE is a renowned volunteer organization
working for energy efficiency, conservation and benign renewable
energy.
In 1992 Rountree founded the AIA/Connecticut Committee
on the Environment (COTE). As chairman for three
years he led the COTE in spearheading statewide initiatives
to promote sustainable architecture.
