Near Net-Zero Energy Home Rendering

Rendering - from SE copy_edited_edited.j

This is a very interesting new house I designed in Weston, CT that will be a near net-zero energy house. At 3,500SF , the home will boast 3-bedrooms with a detached 700SF Art Studio.

It will be constructed using “Insulating Concrete Forms” (ICFs) and the roof and exterior walls will be clad with standing seam metal. The windows will be triple pane tilt-turn from Europe.

The house will have radiant floor heating and an air-to-air heat pump for cooling.  Because of the air tightness of the exterior shell, the house will also have a heat recovery ventilation system to bring in fresh air.

The center of the house will feature a 25 foot high Living Room with a balcony and a bridge connecting two 2nd Floor Bedroom wings.  The house will be powered by at 14kW PV system. Construction is set to begin this fall.
